Chocolate Brownies (Fry’s Fudgey Brownies)

This recipe is straight from the back of the Fry’s Premium Cocoa container, and is hands-down the best brownie recipe I’ve ever tried.

1 1/3 cups flour

1 tsp baking powder

½  tsp salt

1 cup butter

1 cup Fry’s cocoa

2 cups sugar

4 eggs

1 ½ tsp vanilla

Stir together flour, baking powder, and salt in small bowl. Melt butter in a large saucepan. Remove from heat. Stir in cocoa. Blend in sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Blend in dry ingredients. Pour batter into greased baking pan (9 X 13). Bake at 350F for 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in centre comes out clean. Cool completely before icing.

Shannon’s Chocolate Icing

1 cup unsalted butter

2 cups icing sugar

½ cup cocoa

Cream butter until light and fluffy, add vanilla and slowly add in icing sugar and cocoa.  Add a tablespoon or so of milk, and beat until spreading consistency is achieved. Ice your brownies and enjoy.

Note: Add some strong coffee instead of milk to get a yummy mocha icing instead.
