DOWNTOWN OAKVILLE FALL FESTIVAL

Don’t miss this much-anticipated event attracting over 10,000 people. Beginning at 9:00 a.m. at The Towne Square, Downtown Oakville hosts a kick-off pancake breakfast. This is a great day to bring the kids downtown to enjoy an afternoon hayride, face painting and fresh-shucked corn on the cob. The most special part of Fall Festival is the kick-off to this season’s “A Taste of Downtown Oakville” with a day of appreciation of the finer things: fine wine, art and gastronomically pleasing delights.

Oakville, ON – The Gala Fashion Show sparkled under the night sky as Fashion Week festivities wrapped up with a runway show of more than 180 ensembles on April 17th. The packed house was treated to two hours of the hottest spring and summer trends from Oakville’s famous men’s and women’s boutiques.

Not only were the fashions hot, Soprano opera singer Helena Holl provided an overture with a stirring performance to open and close the Gala. Shawn Hewson from Project Runway added his expertise as MC to enlighten the audience as to the wearability and versatility of the outfits as they were presented.

“Many Oakville retailers contributed to the success of the event by providing merchandise, labour, tickets and promotion of the event. More than 30 men's and women's boutiques participated in making this the fashion and cultural event of the spring season. We thank Mercedes-Benz Autohaus for their generous contribution." says John Ziemba, Chair of the Downtown Oakville Fashion Committee. "We look forward to seeing every one again in 2011."One night, one tent, one fashion show...One Downtown Oakville!"
