Balance My Life

Balance My Life –
Online Womans Magazine

Oakville, ON –December 3, 2009 – A new online magazine targeted at confident, mature women in Oakville, Milton, Burlington and Mississauga launched today.  Differentiating from other journals, which often blur the distinction between women and mothers, Balance My Life carefully focuses on what all women need to know to thrive, have fun, and reach life goals.

Balance My Life features local writers and business owners and shares inspirational articles, helpful tips, credible advice and community news. With timely information on everything from travel to real estate, launching a business, book and restaurant reviews, personal style and décor, and fitness and education, the site helps busy women reclaim balance in their hectic lives.

“I had a major epiphany when I turned 40 this year,” notes founder Kenda Blum.  “After years of taking care of my young children, I decided to give myself permission to focus on me.  This new venture provides the creative outlet I need to de-stress and achieve my ambitions, which in turn boosts my self-esteem.  I created this site because I knew that there must be countless others who could benefit from my example and the great information the site will offer.”

Blum, who is also the founder of KiwiBCreative, an Oakville-based print and web design company, is no stranger to thinking strategically and seizing opportunities.  Hailed by her clients as being passionate, knowledgeable, inventive, and intuitive, Blum is marrying her start-up experience with 15 years of expertise as an Art Director in the publishing industry to create an online magazine that is fresh, relevant and reliable.

“The response I’ve received from my own colleagues who have subscribed and encouraged others in their networks to do the same has been overwhelming,” adds Blum.  “Their collective enthusiasm demonstrates how strongly women feel about the need to find flexibility and juggle competing demands on their time.  If Balance My Life helps even one woman to lose the guilt and have some fun, then I know I will have succeeded.”
