Beery Beautiful Sangria

Nothing says “summer” like sipping an icy cold, fruit-laden glass of Sangria out on the patio. But why let wine have all the fun? Try our luscious twist on a summertime classic!

This recipe will fill a 1 ½ – litre pitcher or 6 martini glasses.

In a glass pitcher, place:

  • 1/2 lemon, sliced
  • 1/2 lime, sliced
  • 1/2 orange, sliced
  • 2 cups mixed fruit of your choice (sliced strawberries, sliced peaches, fresh raspberries, and blackberries all work beautifully)
  • 1/4 c. peach schnapps
  • 1 can ginger ale (or 355 mL lemonade)
  • 1 can (473 mL) beer (we like wheat beer or blonde lager)

Mix everything in a pitcher and chill for at least one hour before serving (longer is even better). We love the way the flavours develop when all of the ingredients are mixed together, but if you’re partial to bubbles, you can add the ginger ale just before serving.

If you’re a real purist and the thought of mixing beer with fruit upsets you, all we can say is that both the beer lovers and the beer haters in our crowd asked for seconds!
